Coaching, not a handout. Jacob builds a plan around your goals and your week, checks in often, and encourages you while pushing you to keep improving. It works best when you are ready to commit to the process, and he will be there for every step of it.
Set the goal together
Your first session covers what you want to change, your health history, your training and how your week really runs, so the plan starts from your life, not a template.
Build your plan
Jacob turns that into a personal nutrition plan: meals you will actually eat, fueling around training or recovery, and, if you live with diabetes, how food, activity and your numbers fit together.
Coach it week by week
Each week you meet for an hour to look at what worked, solve what did not and set the next steps. Between sessions you can message or call when a question comes up.
Keep raising the bar
As habits stick, the plan moves with you. Jacob keeps encouraging you and keeps pushing you forward, so progress builds month over month.
Personal, never generic
Every plan is built for one person: your goals, your schedule, your food and your training.
Encourage and push
You should feel good about where you are while still being challenged to improve.
Commitment works
Lasting change comes from showing up week after week. Jacob commits to it as much as you do.
Food fuels the life you want
Nutrition supports your health, your recovery and your performance, so you can live with more purpose.
Jacob has lived with serious health challenges himself, and that history shapes how he coaches. He tells it here in his own words.
I’ve been there. I have struggled intensely and have endured my share of suffering! While personally battling Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), long-haul COVID, food/mold sensitivities, candida overgrowth, and more... Some days, I could hardly get out of bed. I understand the feelings and frustrations that come with these challenges, I have felt the seemingly relentless sugar cravings. I know the struggles when dining out and during social situations — the confusion over what to eat, the lack of time for food prep and straight up feeling exhausted by the end of the day.
Bottom line: I know what you’re going through and guess what? My professional expertise, combined with my own unique healing journey, has positioned me to provide you with nutrition guidance grounded in both expertise and lived experience.

My mission is to empower men and women to reclaim their health, let their light shine, and live with greater purpose through personalized nutrition coaching and simple lifestyle habits.
You want to work with me because you can achieve results and feel great about yourself while I challenge you to be BETTER & BETTER. Encouragement moves mountains!
I know you are going to try, but are you willing to commit to 1 habit/wk with a 6-12 month commitment in mind? If so, I’m your coach!
Basketball/football are number one, plus running hills! Every day, I stretch and foam roll for 30-45 mins combined.
Eggs, cheese, honey, beef, fish, liver, onions, garlic, mangos, pineapple, raw asparagus, carrots and avocado.
I tore my LCL + MCL in Nov. 2025 and am now back stronger than ever! I’m also the 7th of 10 children.
A sports dietitian matches what you eat to how you train, so you have energy for hard sessions and recover well between them. With Jacob, that becomes a fueling plan built around your real training week and adjusted as the week changes.
Jacob is a registered dietitian and a fitness coach who specializes in fueling for performance. He plays basketball and football himself, and his favorite workout is running hills, so training fuel is a practical subject for him. Coaching covers the questions below, applied to your sport, your schedule and the food you like.
Before training, most people do best with a meal two to four hours ahead, or a lighter snack closer to the start, built mostly around easy-to-digest carbohydrate with some protein. During long or very hard sessions, some athletes need carbohydrate and fluid along the way. After training, a meal or snack with protein and carbohydrate helps you refuel and start repair.
Active people generally need more protein than inactive adults, and research suggests muscle uses it best when it is spread across several meals rather than packed into dinner. Jacob helps you build a protein source into each meal and snack in a way that suits your appetite, budget and food preferences.
Not necessarily. Carbohydrate periodization means eating more carbohydrate on heavy or long training days and less on rest or light days, so fuel follows the work. It is a planning tool rather than a rule, and Jacob sets it up only when it makes sense for your sport and your goals.
Fluid needs vary widely with body size, heat, humidity and how much you sweat, so a single number rarely fits. Jacob can show you simple ways to judge your own needs, such as checking body weight before and after a session, and when sodium and other electrolytes are worth adding for long or hot training.
Recovery is built from ordinary things done consistently: enough total energy, regular protein, carbohydrate to restore fuel, fluids and sleep. Rest days still need real meals. Coaching looks at how all of these fit into your week, including the days when time or appetite is short.
Yes. Team sports such as basketball and football mix sprints, jumps and contact with recovery between plays, so the focus is often on having fuel available for repeated bursts and on recovering between games and practices. Endurance training puts more weight on fueling long sessions and on carbohydrate across the week.
Many can, with planning. A plant-based athlete usually pays closer attention to total protein, combining protein sources, and nutrients such as iron, vitamin B12, calcium, vitamin D, zinc and omega-3 fats. Jacob helps you plan meals that cover these, and any supplement question is one to discuss with him and your doctor.
It does. Growing athletes need enough energy for both growth and training, so a young athlete should start with their pediatrician, and Jacob coaches adults. Masters athletes often benefit from paying more attention to protein, recovery time and bone health as they age, while still fueling the training they love.
Yes, food is part of injury recovery: your body needs enough energy and protein to repair tissue and hold on to muscle while you train less. Jacob plans your eating around your rehab, alongside the physical therapist or surgeon who directs it.
Rehabilitation nutrition is one of Jacob’s two specialties. Coaching does not replace your rehab plan; it supports it, so the work you do with your therapist has the fuel it needs.
Healing is itself work for the body, and cutting food too hard while injured can leave too little energy for repair. This balance is often called energy availability. Jacob helps you lower your intake sensibly to match the lower training load without dropping below what recovery needs.
Muscle can shrink quickly when a limb is immobilized or training stops. Regular protein through the day, together with the exercises your physical therapist prescribes, helps limit that loss. Coaching turns this into meals and snacks you can manage, including when cooking is harder than usual.
Several nutrients play roles in healing, including vitamin C in collagen formation, vitamin D and calcium in bone health, and zinc and iron in tissue repair and oxygen delivery. A varied diet with fruit, vegetables, whole grains, dairy or fortified alternatives and protein foods covers most of them. Supplements are a question to discuss with your dietitian and doctor, not a default.
It is a way of eating built on vegetables, fruit, whole grains, legumes, nuts, olive oil and fish, with fewer ultra-processed foods and less alcohol. Inflammation is a normal part of healing, so the aim is not to block it but to eat in a way that supports overall health while you recover.
Many people worry about gaining weight during time off. Jacob helps you adjust portions, keep protein steady and plan for the boredom, stress or disrupted routine that can change eating during an injury, so weight stays a manageable conversation rather than a source of anxiety.
As your therapist clears you to train more, fuel needs climb again, often faster than appetite catches up. Coaching steps your eating back up with the training load, so you have energy for the sessions that rebuild fitness and confidence.
Your rehab team sets the medical plan: what you can do, when, and any restrictions. Your nutrition plan works within it, and you can share it with them. Anything that sounds like a new medical problem goes back to your care team.
As a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES), Jacob helps you understand how food, activity and your glucose numbers fit together, so everyday choices feel less like guesswork. Decisions about medication stay with your prescriber.
Carbohydrate has the biggest direct effect on blood sugar, but that does not mean cutting it out. Coaching covers how to recognize carbohydrate foods, pair them with protein, fiber and fat, and spread them across the day in amounts that suit your body, your food culture and your goals.
Activity usually helps your muscles use glucose, and the effect can last for hours. For some people, especially those using insulin or certain other medications, exercise can also bring a risk of low blood sugar. Jacob helps you plan meals and snacks around activity, and your prescriber advises on any medication changes.
Whether you use finger-stick checks or a continuous glucose monitor, your readings are information, not a grade. Jacob helps you notice patterns after meals, training and sleep, and decide what to try next. Your target ranges come from your prescriber.
A dietitian does not prescribe or change medication. Medication stays with the doctor or nurse practitioner who manages your diabetes, and your nutrition plan is built to work alongside that treatment.
Lasting change usually comes from a few habits repeated week after week, not from a strict plan you can only follow for two weeks. Jacob helps men and women build those habits around work, family and training.
For many active adults the challenge is not knowing what to eat but doing it consistently: busy days, travel, social meals and late training all get in the way. Coaching focuses on the next practical step, and on the encouragement and accountability that keep you moving. If weight is one of your goals, it is part of the plan, alongside energy, strength, recovery and how you feel.
Jacob coaches through the Personalized Care Plan: $750 for a month of one-to-one care, paid online by card. You can start with a single first visit at $140 to meet him and set your goals.
Each month of the Personalized Care Plan runs for 30 days from your payment. It is self-pay and is not billed to insurance. If online enrollment for the plan is not open yet when you visit, book a first visit and tell Jacob you are interested.
Coaching with Jacob suits adults located in one of the 20 states he serves who want steady, week-by-week support with training fuel, injury recovery, diabetes or prediabetes, or healthier habits. Some needs call for a different kind of care.
A sports dietitian is a registered dietitian who helps active people eat for training, competition and recovery. That includes what and when to eat around sessions, protein and carbohydrate across the week, hydration, and fueling through injury and the return to play. Jacob builds this into a plan for your own sport and schedule.
Rehabilitation nutrition is one of his specialties: eating enough to heal, steady protein to protect muscle, the nutrients involved in tissue repair, and weight while you are less active. Your physical therapist or surgeon directs the rehab itself.
Nutrition coaching can work well by video because most of it is conversation, planning and follow-up rather than a physical exam. What makes the biggest difference is consistency: regular sessions, a plan that is adjusted as you go, and support between visits, which is how Jacob coaches.
The Personalized Care Plan is $750 for 30 days from payment. It includes four 60-minute video coaching sessions (one a week), a personal nutrition plan adjusted week by week, chat support between sessions and call support when you need it. It is paid online by card.
No. The Personalized Care Plan is self-pay and is not billed to insurance. A first visit is $140 self-pay, so you know the full price before you book.

He also sees patients by video in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. He is not licensed in these states. None of them requires a state licence for nutrition counselling by a credentialed registered dietitian via telehealth. Services there are nutrition counselling, not medical treatment, without any state’s protected title, and in Alaska and Hawaii without a dietitian title at all. In California, medical nutrition therapy from a registered dietitian is provided on a referral from the patient’s physician (Business and Professions Code §2586). You need to be located in one of these states at the time of each video visit.
CDCES stands for certified diabetes care and education specialist, a credential for health professionals who focus on diabetes education and self-management. Jacob is a registered dietitian and a CDCES, so he can help you understand how food, activity and glucose numbers connect.
No. Jacob is a registered dietitian (RD), sometimes called a registered dietitian nutritionist, and a CDCES. He does not diagnose conditions or prescribe medication; those stay with your doctor or prescriber.
The first visit is a 60-minute video session for $140. Jacob asks about your goals, health history, training and a typical week of eating, then agrees the first practical steps with you and explains how ongoing coaching would work.
Yes, that combination is where his two areas meet. Coaching covers fueling around sessions, carbohydrate awareness and reading your glucose patterns after exercise, while your prescriber advises on any medication changes.
No referral is needed to book a $140 self-pay first visit or the Personalized Care Plan. If you are under the care of a physical therapist, surgeon or diabetes prescriber, it helps to bring their guidance to your first visit.
Jacob coaches one healthy habit at a time. He listens closely, builds a plan around your goals and your week, then encourages you while challenging you to keep improving. He asks for one new habit a week and a 6 to 12 month view, with progress over perfection.
Jacob asks you to commit to one new habit a week, with a 6 to 12 month commitment in mind. In return he listens to every word you share, encourages you and keeps you moving forward. Lasting change, he says, is built one habit at a time.
Jacob has lived with type 1 diabetes, Epstein-Barr virus, long-haul COVID, food and mold sensitivities and candida overgrowth himself, and he shares that history on his profile. It shapes his coaching: he knows sugar cravings, eating out, little time to cook and end-of-day exhaustion firsthand.
