Cost without insurance

How much does a private dietitian cost without insurance?

On CognitiveMind.ai, the monthly Personalized Care Plan is $600 a month at the standard price: four 60-minute video sessions with your dietitian, a plan adjusted week by week, and chat and call support between sessions. A single first visit is $140, and you see every price before you pay.

What does a private dietitian cost on CognitiveMind.ai?

The Personalized Care Plan is $600 a month at the standard price, which works out at $150 a session with the support between sessions included. A single visit is $140.

Jacob Dowling, RD, CDCES, offers his own version of the plan at $750 a month; that price is his alone. Whichever dietitian you choose, their monthly price is shown before you pay.

What are all the prices?

There are three ways to pay: a month of the plan, a single visit, or a prepaid package of visits. All are self-pay by card.

  • Personalized Care Plan: $600 a month for four 60-minute sessions in 30 days, plus chat and call support ($150 a session)
  • Single visit: $140, paid when you book; a first visit is 60 minutes
  • Reset package: 3 visits for $399 ($133 a visit), never expiring
  • Transform package: 8 visits for $1,024 ($128 a visit), never expiring
  • Thrive package: 20 visits for $2,400 ($120 a visit), never expiring

How does the monthly price work out per session?

$600 divided by four sessions is $150 a session. That is a little more than a single $140 visit, because the month also includes a plan adjusted each week and chat and call support between sessions.

Packages cost less per visit, from $133 down to $120, and suit people who want visits at their own pace rather than a weekly rhythm. The plan is for people who want the weekly structure and someone to ask between sessions.

What is included in the price?

Every price covers your time with your dietitian by video in a private room on CognitiveMind.ai. The monthly plan also includes the support between sessions.

There is no sign-up fee and no subscription. The one other possible charge is a $75 no-show fee, for a visit missed without 24 hours’ notice.

  • A 60-minute video session every week
  • A personal nutrition plan, adjusted week by week
  • Chat support between sessions
  • Call support when you need to talk it through

When does paying a dietitian directly make sense?

Paying directly makes sense when you want to choose your dietitian, start without waiting on a plan’s approval, and have as many sessions as are useful to you.

  • No referral is needed to book (in California, medical nutrition therapy from a registered dietitian is provided on a referral from your physician)
  • No authorization step before your first session
  • No limit on how many sessions you have
  • You choose your dietitian and keep working with them
  • The full price is on the screen before you pay

Is a private dietitian covered by insurance?

Visits on CognitiveMind.ai are self-pay by card today, and the monthly plan is not billed to insurance.

If you have nutrition benefits through an insurance plan elsewhere, that plan’s own rules on referrals, approved providers and the number of visits apply there. Your insurer can tell you what they are.

What happens if you cancel or miss a visit?

You can cancel or move a confirmed visit yourself up to 24 hours before it starts, and what you paid stays with you as a session credit. A visit missed without that notice falls under the no-show policy below.

Appointments are reserved specifically for you. If you miss an appointment without at least 24 hours' notice, a $75 no-show fee will be charged to the card on file for this booking, out of respect for your provider's reserved time. A missed session you paid for becomes a session credit that never expires; use it to rebook at no extra cost, or request a refund of the session payment (not the no-show fee), paid 14 days after the missed session's start.

How do you start?

Choose your dietitian and pay for the month online, or meet them first with one first visit. Online enrollment opens dietitian by dietitian, and where a dietitian’s has not opened yet, booking says so plainly.

Pick a dietitian who may see patients in your state. Their monthly price is shown before you pay; the standard price is $600. If you want prepaid visits instead, packages are 3 visits for $399 ($133 a visit), 8 visits for $1,024 ($128 a visit) and 20 visits for $2,400 ($120 a visit).

Frequently asked questions

How much is a dietitian per session without insurance?

On CognitiveMind.ai a single visit is $140. In the monthly Personalized Care Plan a session works out at $150 at the standard price, and in a package at $133 to $120 a visit.

Why does the monthly plan cost more per session than a single visit?

Because a month is more than four sessions: it includes a personal plan adjusted week by week, chat support between sessions and call support when something is easier to talk through.

Is there a lower-cost way to see a dietitian regularly?

Yes. Packages prepay visits at a lower price per visit: 3 visits for $399 ($133 a visit), 8 visits for $1,024 ($128 a visit) and 20 visits for $2,400 ($120 a visit). Package sessions never expire.

Are there any other fees?

No sign-up fee and no subscription. The one other possible charge is a $75 no-show fee, for a visit missed without 24 hours’ notice.

When do I pay?

A single visit is paid by card before it takes place. A package or a month of the plan is paid up front, and the sessions it covers cost nothing more when you book them.

Does the monthly plan renew automatically?

No. Each month is its own payment. To continue, you buy the next month during the last seven days of the current one, and it starts when the current month ends.

Can I use my insurance?

Not on CognitiveMind.ai today: every visit is self-pay by card, and the monthly plan is not billed to insurance.
