How Virginia regulates dietitians

CDR’s summary of state statutes describes Virginia as: “Title protection for dietitian, nutritionist”. In practice that means the state protects the title rather than licensing the practice; your RD credential is what matters, and you should still confirm the detail with the state.

Virginia is not a member of the Dietitian Licensure Compact. The compact’s own site lists states that do not license or certify dietitians as ineligible to join. No state’s membership lets anyone practise under the compact yet: CDR expects the first compact privileges to be issued in 2027.

Both of us. The platform routes patients to your calendar, and you can bring your own. We also build you a practice site inside the platform with booking, payments and video included. We are early, so we do not promise a number of patients or hours; most dietitians start with a few hours a week alongside what they already do.
When do insurance visits start?
When each payer approves your credentialing. We file, track and chase every application for you, but the payer sets the timeline, typically weeks to months. Self-pay visits work from day one.
