Every dietitian listed here may see patients located in California. Visits are by secure video, so it makes no difference where in the state you are.
California issues no state licence for this work, so none of our providers is licensed there. California does not require a state licence for nutrition counselling by a credentialed registered dietitian via telehealth (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§2585, 2586). Services are nutrition counselling, not medical treatment. In California, medical nutrition therapy from a registered dietitian is provided on a referral from the patient’s physician (Business and Professions Code §2586).

Los Angeles has dietitians, but getting to one usually means a referral, a wait, and half a day out. A video visit takes the hour it takes. California has more dietitians than any other state, and also some of the longest waits and hardest commutes to reach one.
That includes Long Beach, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Glendale, Burbank and the rest of Los Angeles County: one visit, from wherever in California you happen to be.
California is on Pacific Time. Visit times are always shown in your own time zone.
There is no single best dietitian, only the right one for what you need. Five things worth checking, whoever you end up seeing:
Check the credential. Look for RD or RDN. It means an accredited degree, a supervised internship and a national exam. In many states anyone may call themselves a “nutritionist”.
Check they may practise in California. California protects the title but does not license dietitians, so the national RD or RDN credential is what tells you they are qualified. What matters is the state where YOU are sitting during the visit, not where the dietitian is.
Match the specialty. Ask what share of their patients have your condition. Someone who sees diabetes or gut conditions every day will get you further, faster.
Know the price first. You should see the full price before you book, and what happens if you cancel. If you cannot, keep looking.
Ask about between visits. Most of the change happens between appointments. Find out whether you can message your dietitian and how quickly they answer.
Step 1
Choose a dietitian and a slot that suits you. The price is on the screen before you confirm.
Step 2
Join from your phone or computer. Your first visit is 60 minutes: history, goals, and a plan you can actually follow.
Step 3
Message your dietitian, keep your plan in one place, and book follow-ups when you need them.
