Every dietitian listed here may see patients located in Washington. Visits are by secure video, so it makes no difference where in the state you are.
Providers marked “no state licence required” are not licensed in Washington. Washington does not require a state licence for nutrition counselling by a credentialed registered dietitian via telehealth (RCW 18.138.010, .020, .110). Services are nutrition counselling, not medical treatment; providers without Washington’s own credential do not use the “certified dietitian” or “certified nutritionist” (C.D., C.N.) title.

Tacoma has dietitians, but getting to one usually means a referral, a wait, and half a day out. A video visit takes the hour it takes. The Cascades divide Washington: the Puget Sound side is dense with providers, and the east side is farm country with long drives.
That includes Lakewood, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, University Place and the rest of Pierce County: one visit, from wherever in Washington you happen to be.
Washington is on Pacific Time. Visit times are always shown in your own time zone.
There is no single best dietitian, only the right one for what you need. Five things worth checking, whoever you end up seeing:
Check the credential. Look for RD or RDN. It means an accredited degree, a supervised internship and a national exam. In many states anyone may call themselves a “nutritionist”.
Check they may practise in Washington. Washington certifies dietitians, but no state licence is required for registered dietitians providing nutrition counselling by telehealth; the state protects only its certified title. So the national RD or RDN credential is what tells you they are qualified. What matters is the state where YOU are sitting during the visit, not where the dietitian is.
Match the specialty. Ask what share of their patients have your condition. Someone who sees diabetes or gut conditions every day will get you further, faster.
Know the price first. You should see the full price before you book, and what happens if you cancel. If you cannot, keep looking.
Ask about between visits. Most of the change happens between appointments. Find out whether you can message your dietitian and how quickly they answer.
Step 1
Choose a dietitian and a slot that suits you. The price is on the screen before you confirm.
Step 2
Join from your phone or computer. Your first visit is 60 minutes: history, goals, and a plan you can actually follow.
Step 3
Message your dietitian, keep your plan in one place, and book follow-ups when you need them.
